In the laying of refractory bricks, you also need to use refractory mud, just as you need cement to build a house. The main function of refractory mud is to bond and joint refractory bricks. It has large bonding strength, strong erosion resistance, good plasticity and convenient construction. According to the material can be divided into clay, high aluminum, silica and magnesium refractory mud, according to chemical properties are divided into acid refractory, neutral refractory and alkaline refractory. Masonry refractory bricks should be matched with refractory mud of the same material, but the load softening starting point of refractory mud is lower than that of refractory bricks, because the volume shrinkage of refractory mud is large at high temperature. Therefore, the quality requirements are more important.
When laying clay bricks, clay refractory mud should be used, and clay refractory mud is composed of clay clinker and bonded clay.
When laying high alumina bricks, high alumina refractory mud should be used. When laying high alumina bricks of AL2O360-75%, high alumina refractory mud with aluminum content of more than 50% should be used. When laying high alumina bricks of AL2O348-55%, high refractoriness clay refractory mud can be used.
When laying silicon bricks, silica refractory mud with a SiO2 content of 90-93% should be used.
When laying magnesium bricks, magnesium refractory mud should be used, and its magnesium oxide content is not less than 78%.
